Things to know before using AI-Generated contents.

Things to know before using AI-Generated contents.

Hi there, and Welcome to the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Writing just got better!

AI writing tools were initially intended for spelling and grammar checks, however, over time more advanced tools have been created and these updates now help with all aspects of copywriting and content generation.

The use of AI-generated content should be carefully studied before implementation mostly if you or your company belong in the creative space.

AI tools are not meant for everyone or businesses, the use of AI-generated content should be carefully studied before implementation mostly if you or your company belong in the creative space.

It is however no doubt that AI will help solve the issue of writer's block as it can help unlock ideas, but let’s not forget that a computer still maintains our elementary definition of “Garbage-in, Garbage-Out”. For clarity purposes, this simply implies that a computer does not “give what it does not have”.

So with this brief explanation, here are a few things to consider as a writer, and organization before using AI writing tools in your tasks:

  • Risk of Repetition with similar Criteria.

By stating keywords and concepts related to your article, proposal etc; AI can quickly publish results in any form your criteria suggest.

This simply means that when someone else with similar or closely related criteria seeks the help of the AI, there is a high probability that your content will pop up again for the new user.

  • Plagiarism ALERT!

All results generated by AI are gotten from sites, publications and relevant topics within your request. So for every request you make, the AI draws information from these sources and presents it as your result, although in most cases after a few reconstructive sentences.

This increases the chance of plagiarized content, which devalues your content before readers and also causes your content to be flagged down by google as “Plagiarized”.

  • Issue of Content Devaluation by Google Algorithm.

One major thing about Google Optimization and Algorithm is its thirst for originality. Google Algorithm is the secret behind brand visibility.

The AI like we know already works with an algorithm which at some point in delivery, faults on google stipulated guidelines. So if you want to grow your business through any form of content within google’s reach, possibly stick to human writers for the most part.

  • E.A.T Criteria: Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness

While this may seem like an Algorithm, it is NOT.

E.A.T is a principle embedded into Google Search Engine Guidelines which helps google select priority contents to be ranked above in the engine.

AI writing however experiences issues ranking high according to this principle. So while this might not be a ranking factor, it can affect it positively or negatively.

  • Content Originality and Nuance.

AI Writing as we know is machine engineered and so like the first point, tends to replicate numerous contents spread across users, so Originality might be lost in the process.

Writing is expected to exhume a tone and expression that pulls the reader to the post and maintains their interest. Tone, expression and emotion can most times be lost also because AI pulls information from different sources thereby mixing tones in the process.

In Conclusion

AI is undoubtedly a very amazing invention, and its speed and efficiency is well recognized. However, with the above-listed issues with AI content, it is very important that the use of AI in creating content should not be exploited.

For individuals and companies in the much congested creative space, it is important to maintain the use of human strength to maintain credibility and limit the use of AI to spelling/grammar checks and idea generation to avert the related AI issues in the contents.
